Queer Scene in Linz

The queer scene in Linz is modest, but it exists. There are a handful of queer venues in Linz and several organizations with a focus on the LGBTQI+ community.

Meetups and Social Groups

  • Queerer Nerd Treff Linz (Queer Nerd Meetup Linz)

    Our meetups offer a great opportunity to meet and connect with other people who are part of the trans, inter, and non-binary (TIN) spectrum. The terms trans and non-binary encompass everything from binary trans identity through non-binary, agender, and genderfluid identities to people who are genderqueer or gender non-conforming. Naturally, everyone from the LGBTQI+ community is also warmly welcome!

  • Queer Games Night (organized by Queerer Nerd Treff Linz (Queer Nerd Meetup Linz))

    This relaxed games night offers an opportunity to meet like-minded people and have fun! Naturally, everyone from the LGBTQI+ community is warmly welcome!

    No registration required and no purchase obligation whatsoever. You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

  • Trans*+Inter* Stammtisch Linz

    This regulars' table offers an opportunity to meet and connect with other people who are part of the trans and inter spectrum.   • queer un(d)-fit

    Weekly meetups for walking together and possibly doing some sports. Usually starts at Ebelsberg station and the group walks together to Weikerlsee lake. Various activities are possible at the lake, from non-athletic to athletic. Chilling. Walking. Running. Outdoor fitness equipment. Swimming. The group aims to be as inclusive as possible and prioritizes community protection, especially of genderqueer and/or closeted people. Meeting points are always adjusted to the season and weather. There is a WhatsApp and a Signal group for necessary info about planned dates, short-term adjustments, and ways to get in touch.

    No registration required. Until further notice, every Tuesday from 7:00 PM. Starting point is the parking lot at Ebelsberg station, near the Ebelsberg Bahnhof tram stop.

    Arrivals by S-Bahn that stop at Ebelsberg Bahnhof at 6:59 PM will be waited for. If you're running late, please let us know via the messenger services (WhatsApp/Signal); otherwise, the group sets off at around 7:00 PM.

  • Ladies*Night

    Cool drinks, good music, and the best company. An offering from HOSI Linz explicitly for women of any sexual orientation, as well as trans*, inter*, and non-binary people. Ladies*Night is intended as a safe space for queer women to sit together and chat in a relaxed atmosphere. The exact format of the monthly after-work get-together is guided by the needs and wishes of visitors: from casual tea chats to entertaining game nights with a DJane — anything is possible. There are no age limits: all people of every age are warmly welcome.

  • "cosi hosi" — A cozy start to the weekend.

    In a cozy living room atmosphere, a varied start to the weekend is created. The perfect opportunity to get to know new people, chat with friends, and play games.

  • Queere Frauen Linz (formerly Lesbresso)

    Women meet to talk, catch up with friends, or get to know new women; perhaps also to brainstorm ideas for future activities and events. A cooperation between aFZ — autonomes Frauenzentrum Linz and HOSI Linz. All are welcome who identify as women and like dating women or aren't quite sure yet. Meetings are designed flexibly.
